Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. - Open the hood and remove the left side engine panel.

- Disconnect hose assembly (1). Use Tooling (A) to remove engine oil filter (2). Remove engine oil filter (2).

Illustration 2 g06375050 - Remove bolts (3), bolts (6), bolts (5), and filter base (4).
- Remove tube assembly (7) and the O-ring seal from filter base (4).
- Install filter base (4) and engine oil filter (2) in the reverse order of removal.
- Lubricate the bore for the O-ring seal of tube assembly (7) lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
- Use the following procedure to tighten engine oil filter (2):
- Lubricate the seal and bore of engine oil filter (2) lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed. Install engine oil filter (2) in vertical orientation only.
- Tighten engine oil filter (2) to a torque of
100 ± 5 N.m (74 ± 4 lb ft) . - Ensure that there is no gap between engine oil filter (2) and filter base (4).
