Oscillating Hitch - Adjust

Usage:

AD22 MW5

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from machine articulation or movement.

Machine frames can move and a person can be crushed.

Connect the steering frame lock link between the front and rear frames before working on machine. Secure clevis pin with locking pin.

Before operating the machine, fasten the steering frame lock link into the stored position and secure the clevis pin with locking pin.

Failure to lock into the stored position before operating can result in loss of steering.

  1. Park the machine on a level surface.

  2. Relieve the tension from the oscillating hitch. Place a large block of timber behind the rear wheels of the machine and reverse the machine against the block.

  3. Engage the parking brake and stop the engine.

  5. Reposition locking plate (2) so that hole (5) is outside of the circumference of thrust flange (3).

  6. Insert a 3/4 inch square drive through hole (5) so that the square drive contacts the outside of thrust flange (3). The square drive will prevent locking plate (2) from rotating clockwise.

  7. Use a suitable wrench on the square drive to turn thrust flange (3) clockwise until all end play has been removed.

  8. If necessary, turn the thrust flange counterclockwise to line up the holes. Insert the square drive into hole (4) to rotate the thrust flange counterclockwise. Rotate the thrust flange as far as the first correct hole alignment.

  9. Remove the square drive and reposition locking plate (2) and bolts (1).
