Description Of Change: There is an improved design for the scraper bowl side spreader joints on certain 623H and 623K Wheel Tractor-Scrapers. Due to the relocation of the spreader tube for increased operator visibility, bowl flexing in the joints where the front spreader bar and the top side of the bowl meet, has been reduced.

Adaptable To: A Special Instruction using the 508-6409 Support Kit has been developed for a field repair. The following changes are adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers, and are effective with all products after the listed serial numbers

The special instruction is available through the normal literature distribution system. The publication can also be found on the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS).
