Engine Valve Springs Are Now Made Of Stronger Steel{1108}

Usage:

D3, 613, 613B Tractors;
910, 931 Loaders;
1100 and 3100 Series Engines;
3208 Engines

Description of Change: The engine valve springs for the above listed models are now made of a different steel alloy than the former valve springs. Some of the former valve springs broke in 3208 Engines because of small scratches or dents (surface areas pushed in because of an impact) on the spring surface. Also, a few failures were seen on replacement springs on the other models. The former springs that broke all had a white and pink stripe. The former springs with an orange or a yellow stripe did not break. The new spring will prevent valve spring failures.

Adaptable As: Direct replacement. The former valve springs with the pink and white stripe in your parts department can be used in 1100 or 3100 Series Engines that have two springs per valve. The stress in the spring is lower with two springs per valve than it is with one spring per valve. The former valve springs in your parts department with the orange or yellow stripe can be used in the models that have either one or two springs per valve. The new valve springs will have either an orange, white, yellow or blue stripe.
