Tools Now Available To Ream And/Or Hone 0.500" (12.70 mm) Diameter Valve Guides{0663}
Usage:
During cylinder head reconditioning, it is some times necessary to ream and/or hone (machine with a reamer or hone) valve guides with 0.500" (12.70 mm) diameters. Four new tools are now available for this purpose. The 5P7289 Mandrel, 5P7292 Adapter, 5P7291 Stone and 5P7290 Sleeve can be used with the head and driver from the 1P7451 Valve Guide Honing Group to hone 0.500" (12.70 mm) diameter valve guides.
Special Instruction Form GMG00966 gives the necessary information to hone 0.375" (9.52 mm) diameter valve guides. Use the same procedure, but with the new tools, to hone valve guides with 0.500" (12.70 mm) diameters.
