New Rotor Assembly For Engine Oil Pump Has A Drilled Passage For Better Lubrication Of Oil Pump Bearing{1304}

Usage:

3208 Engines in All Applications

Description of Change: A new rotor assembly with a 0.093" (2.36 mm) diameter drilled passage from the lobe profile to the outer bearing is used in the above engines. Also, a new oil pump bearing with a tighter press fit is used. Formerly, bearing seizure was possible because of limited lubrication to the bearing, especially in cool weather with thick oil.

Adaptable As: The new 9N3207 Rotor Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 9N949 Rotor Assembly which is canceled. The new 9N2856 Oil Pump Bearing is a direct replacement for the former 9N242 Oil Pump Bearing which is canceled. It is not necessary to install the new parts together, but to be sure of good lubrication our recommendation is to install the new parts at the same time.

INSTALLATION: Use the tools shown in the respective Service Manual and install the 9N2856 Oil Pump Bearing as shown in the Illustration.

Assemble 9N2856 Oil Pump Bearing with joint as shown.
