Stronger Guide Assembly For Oil Level Gauge Used On Caterpillar-Built Engines In Massey-Ferguson Tractors{1300}

3208, 3150 and 3160 Industrial Engines in Massey-Ferguson Tractors

Description of Change: A new guide assembly for the oil level gauge is used on 3208 Industrial Engines for Massey-Ferguson Tractors. It is also a part of a new oil level gauge changeover group for all of the above engines. The new guide assembly has a stronger bracket welded to the guide. The bracket has a "hooked" (bent) end which is brazed (welded) to the guide on more of its circumference for a stronger design. The former guide assembly had a bracket that was flat on the end that welded to the guide. This design was easily broken.

Adaptable To: The new guide assembly is a direct replacement for the former guide assembly which is canceled. The new guide assembly can be installed on the engines shown in the Chart that follows:

Special Instruction Form SMHS6968 gives the instructions needed to install the changeover group.
