气缸压力可在检查火花塞测量。 可通过检查气缸压力测试下列各项的状况：气门, 气门座圈, 活塞, 活塞环 和 缸套。
一个或多个气缸的压力下降或变化可能表示下列状况。 这些状况可能表示存在润滑故障：
- 积碳过多
- 气门故障或断裂
- 活塞环卡滞或断裂
- 活塞环磨损
- 缸套磨损
约 250 工作小时后，测量发动机气缸压力。 记录该数据。 连续定期测量气缸压力。 将记录的数据与新的数据相比较可提供有关发动机状况的信息。
注: 气缸压力是帮助确定大修周期的考虑因素之一。 有关详细信息，请参阅您发动机的操作和保养手册。
如果气缸压力提高是由于一个或多个气缸压缩比的原因，发动机需要进行上部大修，以清除积碳。 不清除沉积物，会增加爆震的机会。 将会产生严重的气门沟槽。
使用 193-5859 气缸压力表总成 (燃气发动机)来测量气缸压力。 使用仪表所带的专门说明书, NEHS0798。 按照下列指南进行：
- 拆下全部火花塞。
- 完全打开油门板。
- 尽可能缩短起动时间。 此策略将使检查时的连续起动速度达到最大。 另外，也能节省蓄电池的电力。
