The Modem is optional in a stand-alone system. The Modem is located in the Parallel Control cabinet in a paralleled MMU system. In the single system the Modem is located in the customer tray. The customer tray is accessed from the top of the Controls Cabinet. The Modem is powered from a 230/115VAC transformer from the output of the UPS.
The Modem Power Supply is located on the left side of the Customer Connections tray and converts the AC power coming from the Modem transformer to DC to power the Modem.
Modem Removal

- Perform steps in the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Controls Cabinet)" in order to de-energize the system and gain access to internal components.
- Remove the metal shield covering the Customer Contacts Tray on the top of the Controls Cabinet.
- Cut the cable tie that holds the Modem to the tray.
- Remove cables from the rear of the Modem.

Modem Installation
- Place Modem in upper tray with the cable connectors facing to the left of the cabinet.
- Attach the cables to the Modem.
- Secure the Modem to the tray with a cable tie.
- Replace the metal shield over the Customer Contacts tray.
Power Supply Removal

- Remove the metal shield covering the Customer Contacts Tray on the top of the Controls Cabinet.
- Cut the cable ties that hold the Modem Power Supply to the tray.
- Unplug the power supply from the Modem and from the cabinet plug connector.
Power Supply Installation
- Plug the Modem Power Supply in the upper tray plug connector.

- Attach the power cable to the Modem.
- Secure the Modem Power Supply to the tray with two cable ties.
