Rework Procedure

  1. Disassemble the left-hand control group. Save hardware for reuse on the D6T.

    • Remove tiller

    • Remove left-hand control group covers

    • Remove clock spring assembly

    • Disconnect tiller handle and clock spring harnesses

  1. Install plate (3) using screws (1). Refer to Illustration 1 for the correct orientation of plate (3) .

  1. Install the tiller handle harness.

    1. Position the cover(s) over the bracket, do not secure.

    1. On the D7E and D8T, route the harness through the cover and through grommet hole (8) .

      Covers removed for clarity.

    1. Reinstall the grommet.

      • D6T: Reuse the grommet from the disassembly procedure.

      • D7E: Reuse the grommet from the disassembly procedure. Install onto the new tiller harness and firmly press the grommet into place.

      • D8T: Install grommet (2) onto the tiller harness and firmly press into place.

    1. Install clip (7) on the ECM mounting bolt.

    1. Strap the tiller jumper harness and the mating harness to clip (7) .

Note: Perform Step 3.i for the D7E only.

    1. Connect the mating tiller harness.

Note: The main harness should be tie strapped to the bracket.

Note: Perform Steps 3.j through 3.l for the D8T only.
