When testing the fuel transfer pump is using diesel fuel, the pump should be within the following specifications:
- Run the pump at 1050 rpm. Adjust the flow to 2.5 L/min (0.7 US gpm). The full bypass pressure should be 192 ± 73 kPa (28 ± 11 psi).
- Run the pump at 750 rpm. Adjust the flow to a minimum of 2.3 L/min (0.6 US gpm). The minimum pressure should be 135 kPa (20 psi).
- Run the pump at 750 rpm. Block the fuel flow at the outlet. The pump pressure should be 230 ± 35 kPa (33 ± 5 psi).
- Run the pump at 300 rpm. Adjust the pump pressure to 140 kPa (20 psi). The minimum flow should be 1 L/min (0.3 US gpm).
When the pump is viewed from the drive end the rotation of the pump is counterclockwise.
