Description of Change: A SOS sampling valve for the transmission system is used on the 990 Series II Wheel Loader and the 844 Wheel Dozer. The valve improves the procedure for sampling the transmission oil. The SOS sampling valve is attached to the transmission oil filter. The following graphic shows the location of the sampling valve on the machine.

Adaptable To: At production, the SOS sampling valve is effective with the following machines. 990 Series II Wheel Loader (S/N: BCR00224-UP) and 844 Wheel Dozer (S/N: BBN00129-UP)
The sampling port is adaptable to first production of the machines that are listed. In order to install the sampling port, remove the four bolts that are holding the hose assembly to the filter group. Then, install the following parts.
