Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Clean the outside diameter of the crankshaft.
Note: Install the crankshaft rear seal with the arrow that shows the direction of crankshaft rotation toward the rear of the engine.
- Use Tooling (E) to install wear sleeve (2) and crankshaft rear seal (1) as a unit. Refer to Special Instruction, M0104958, "Crankshaft Seal Installation" for the correct rear main seal installation tooling required for the particular application.
