Removal Procedure

Start By:

Remove the muffler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Muffler - Remove and Install".
Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Cleaner - Remove and Install".
Remove the radiator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator and Aftercooler - Remove".

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Turn fuel shutoff valves to the OFF position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System Primary Filter/Water Seperator - Drain" for the correct procedure.
Drain the power train oil system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the power train oil system is approximately 144 L (38 US gal).

Install Tooling (A) underneath bottom guard (1).
Remove bolts (2) and lower bottom guard (1) from case and frame assembly (3).

Remove plate (4).

Disconnect hose (5).

Disconnect four harness assemblies (6) and remove bolt (7).

Disconnect starter cable (8) and ground wire (9).

Disconnect hose assembly (10).

Remove bolts (11) and support (12).
Repeat Step 10 for the opposite side of the engine.

Disconnect harness assemblies (15).

Install Tooling (B) on housing (17).

Attach Tooling (C) to ROPS assembly (18). Attach Tooling (C) to Tooling (B) in order to support housing (17).

Attach a suitable lifting device to engine (19).

Remove bolts (20) and the nuts from housing (17).

Repeat Steps 20 and 21 for the opposite side of the engine.

Remove engine (19). The weight of engine (19) is approximately 907 kg (2000 lb).
