When the TCS is turned on, the solenoid coil of the on/off valve is energized. The on/off valve allows pressure oil to be supplied to the four pressure control valves. The spool of the on/off valve does not modulate. The spool is either in the ON position (energized solenoid) or in the OFF position (de-energized solenoid). The on/off valve is basically a hydraulic override switch that switches the hydraulic portion of the TCS on and off.
