(2) Thickness of 2G-4166 Shim ... 0.178 ± 0.013 mm (0.0070 ± 0.0005 inch)
(3) Thickness of 2G-4167 Shim ... 0.127 ± 0.013 mm (0.0050 ± 0.0005 inch)
Note: The backlash between the gears should be 0.30 +0.13 -0.10 mm (0.012 +0.005 -0.004 inch). The shim pack will be 0.025 ± 0.025 mm (0.0010 ± 0.0010 inch) greater than the gap that is measured between the retainer and the cover.
(4) Lubricate the bore lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(5) Torque for 21 bolts ... 240 ± 40 N·m (175 ± 30 lb ft)
(6) Lubricate the bore lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(7) Lubricate the bore lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(8) Lubricate the sealing lip lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(9) Lubricate the bore lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
(10) Thickness of 6D-7614 Shim ... 0.18 mm (0.007 inch)
(11) Thickness of 6D-7613 Shim ... 0.12 mm (0.005 inch)
Note: The final shim pack will produce 0.05 ± 0.03 mm (0.002 ± 0.001 inch) end play on the pinion. The pinion must be rotated before the end play is measured.
