  1. Use the strap in order to raise the rear of the track roller frame (3) to 15 degrees or more. Place a suitable jack stand under the recoil spring housing in order to hold the track roller frame in position. Remove the strap.

  1. Raise the temperature of the chrome bearing to 175 °C (347 °F). Slide chrome bearing (2) on the recoil spring housing to the jack stand. Attach the strap and remove the jack stand. Slide the chrome bearing to the larger diameter of the recoil spring housing.

  1. Carefully slide the chrome bearing on recoil spring housing (1). Use a wood block to apply constant pressure on the chrome bearing. The wood block will help prevent the chrome bearing from bouncing away from the proper area of installation.

Note: Do not allow the temperature of the chrome bearing to cool during the installation procedure. If the chrome bearing is installed in an incorrect position, the chrome bearing must be removed and a new chrome bearing must be installed.

End By: Install the front track roller frame. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Front Track Roller Frame - Install".
