Instructions

Note: Remove power from the MIDS panel before starting this installation.

  1. Remove the MIDS display from the engine control panel door. The MIDS display mounting hardware is not needed for installing the Advisor M2 display.

    Note: The MIDS display can be saved as a back-up display.

  1. Remove the MIDS display gasket from inside the engine control panel door. For G3500 proceed to step 4.

  1. Remove the CSA label 230-0975 Warning Plate from the front of the engine control panel door.

  1. Increase the size of the engine control panel door cut out where the MIDS display was installed so the Advisor M2 display can be installed. The cut out should be 208 mm (8 inch) wide and 127 mm (5 inch) high. Center the cut out on the existing cut out; use the MIDS display mounting holes as a guide shown in Illustration 1.

  1. Install the adhesive backed gasket 248-5563 Gasket-Panel Mount around the cut out on the face of the door. The red side of the gasket should face toward the outside of the box and should not be removed.

    Note: Make sure the wiring in the panel is not damaged while cutting the door to increase the size of the cut out.

  1. Install the Advisor M2 display 255-8937 Control Group-Electronic (Advisor M2) using two mounting group brackets 259-5812 Mounting Group (Advisor M2). Refer to Illustration 2. Place the Advisor M2 display in the cut out before installing the mounting brackets.

  1. Remove the 5 wires with the Deutsch removal tool from the 12-pin connector that was connected to the MIDS display. Refer to Illustration 3.

  1. Install the five wires in the 70-pin connector of the 260-0864 Harness Assembly.

    See Table 5 for details.

    Note: Pull on the wires. Observe the sockets from the face of the connector to be sure that the wires are locked in the connector.

  1. Install the 70-pin connector onto the Advisor M2 display using a 5/32" hex wrench. Connect the 3-pin connector on harness assembly 260-0864 to the keyboard connector. Secure loose wiring. Refer to Illustration 4.

  1. (G3600 only) Install the CSA certification label 230-0975 Warning Plate on the front of the engine control panel. Refer to Illustration 5.
