Installation Procedure

NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

    Typical example

  1. Use 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound on bolts (5) .

  1. Position compressor housing (1) and turbine housing (4) with the air pipes, exhaust pipes, and oil lines in order to prevent binding. Install bolts (5). Do not tighten bolts completely.

  1. Tighten the nut on V-band clamp (2) for turbine housing (4) to a torque of 14 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft).

  1. Tighten manifold bolts (5) to a torque of 55 ± 5 N·m (41 ± 4 lb ft).

  1. Position compressor housing (1) so the air outlet is zero degrees from top vertical.

  1. Tighten the nut on V-band clamp (2) for compressor housing (1) to a torque of 14 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft).

  1. Lightly tap around the diameter of both V-band clamps (2) with a soft hammer. Tighten the nuts on both V-band clamps (2) to a torque of 14 ± 1 N·m (10 ± 1 lb ft).
