  1. Place suitable cribbing between the draft frame and the scraper bowl, as shown. Use Tooling (A) to raise the scraper bowl until the cribbing contacts the draft frame. Make sure that the cribbing is properly seated between the draft frame and the scraper bowl.

  1. Lower the load cylinder. Make sure that the rear bracket of the cushion-hitch is resting on the front hitch.

    ------ WARNING! ------

At operating temperature the implement hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns.

To prevent possible injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic system before hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.

    NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses and tubes. This helps prevent fluid loss and contamination of the oil system.

  1. Remove the servo steering cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Servo Steering Cylinder - Remove and Install" for the appropriate removal procedure.

  1. Remove the cushion-hitch accumulator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Accumulator (Cushion-Hitch) - Remove" for the appropriate removal procedure.
