Use The 6V4930 Battery Load Tester To Test Batteries{0651}

Usage:

SUPPLEMENT: 07/11/83

SERVICE MAGAZINE, MAY 23, 1983, PAGE 3. In the article "Use The 6V4930 Battery Load Tester To Test Batteries", add the information which follows:

Do not use this tester on any battery or cell arrangement with more than 12 volts. This tester may be used on higher voltage batteries by connecting across individual cells which total up to 12 volts. Operation of the tester at more than 12 volts and 750 amperes of current draw will overheat the resistance bank and cause damage to the load tester.

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

The 6V4930 Battery Load Tester tests all batteries. It has two load cables which can be easily connected to battery terminals.

A load adjustment knob on the front panel adjusts the current that is drawn (taken) from the battery to 700 amperes. A thermometer on the front panel shows when the safe operating temperature limit has been reached. The battery load tester is easy to carry. It is built into a strong metal case.

A 6V4910 Digital Clamp-On Ammeter is used with the battery load tester to measure the current drawn from the battery. The 6V3030 Digital Multimeter is also used to measure the voltage of the test battery. When used as a group, these three service tools replace the former 5P300 Electrical Tester. See Special Instruction, Form SEHS8268 for more information.
