637E Series II Wheel Tractor-Scrapers Caterpillar

The ether starting aid cylinder (1) for the scraper engine is mounted on the right side of the engine. The ether cylinder is near the primary air cleaner.

1. Loosen the ether cylinder retaining clamp (2). Unscrew the ether cylinder.

2. Remove the used gasket. Install the new gasket. A new gasket is provided with each new ether cylinder.

3. Install the new ether cylinder. Tighten the ether cylinder hand tight. Tighten the cylinder retaining clamp with your fingers.
