Software Part Number Display - Submode 13

Usage:

963C 2DS
The procedure for the display of the software part number is performed while the engine is OFF. The display of the software part number (submode 13) checks the part number of the software that is currently running on the machine.

  1. Turn the key start switch to the ON position. Do NOT start the engine.

  1. Enter calibration mode (mode 5) of the Caterpillar Monitoring System. Press and hold both the "SERVICE" switch and the "CLEAR" switch at the same time. Release the switches when "-5-" is showing in the display area. The transmission system indicator should now be ON. This verifies that calibration mode is entered.

  1. Enter submode 13. Press and hold the "SERVICE" switch. Release the switch when "13" is showing on submode identifier (1).

The software part number will scroll in three sections. The display of each section will last for two seconds. An example of part number 144-0238-00 is shown below:

    • "13 144" is shown for two seconds.

    • "13 0238" is shown for two seconds.

    • "13 -00" is shown for two seconds.

  1. After the software part number is viewed, change to a different submode or return the Caterpillar Monitoring System and the hydrostatic transmission ECM to normal mode.

    • To change to a different submode, press and hold the "SERVICE" switch. Release the switch when the number of the submode that is desired is shown on identifier (1).

    • To return to normal mode, press and hold both the "SERVICE" switch and the "CLEAR" switch at the same time. Release the switches when the symbol for the hour meter is shown in the display area.

Calibration Reset

This procedure is performed with the engine off. This feature allows the service technician to reset the track speed calibrations.

  1. Simultaneously press the calibrate switch in the decrease direction and the clear switch to the clear position. Hold the switches in these positions until the "accept" symbol is displayed in the display area.
