Removal Procedure
Start By:
- Remove the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Remove".
- Remove the track roller frame. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Roller Frame - Remove".
- Drain the oil from the final drive case.

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

Note: Check the condition of all seals and of all components. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

- Loosen hub assembly (15) by using a puller tool that has three points.

- Remove the spacer and bearing (16) .
- Remove hub (15) .

- Remove bearing (17) and the spacer.
- Install an appropriate lifting device and a hoist to the final drive case and the sprocket.
