953C Track-Type Loader Hydraulic System Caterpillar

On machines that have two attachments, a diverter valve is needed in order to allow a single attachment control valve to control two attachments. The diverter valve is in the attachment circuit between the attachment control valve and the cylinders.

Selector spool (3) is manually operated and the spool has two positions. The positions are MULTIPURPOSE BUCKET CONTROL and RIPPER CONTROL.

In the RIPPER CONTROL position, passages (4) and (7) are open to oil from passages (5) and (6) so that the ripper can be operated. Passages (1) and (2) are closed.

In the MULTIPURPOSE BUCKET CONTROL position, passages (1) and (2) are open to oil from passages (5) and (6) so that the multipurpose bucket can be operated. Passages (4) and (7) are closed.
