Metering Pump (Steering) - Disassemble

Usage:

966G 3PW

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the steering metering pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Metering Pump (Steering) - Remove".

Note: Thoroughly clean the outside of the steering metering pump prior to disassembly.

  1. Remove seven bolts (1) and cap (2) from the gerotor assembly.

  2. Remove O-ring seal (3) from cap (2).

  3. Remove gerotor assembly (4) and spacer (5) from the pump body.

  4. Remove O-ring seal (6) from gerotor assembly (4).

  5. Remove drive (7) and spacer (8) from the pump body.

  6. Remove O-ring seal (9) from the pump body.

  7. Remove sleeve assembly (10) from the pump body.

  8. Disassemble the sleeve assembly.

    1. Remove pin (14).

    2. Remove spool (12) from sleeve (11).

    3. Remove six springs (13) from spool (12).

  9. Remove bearing races (15) and bearing (16) from the pump body.

  10. Turn the pump body onto the opposite side. Remove spiral lockring (17), bushing (18) and O-ring seal (19).

  11. Remove seals (20) from bushing (21).

  12. Remove plug (22), seat (24), ball (26) and retainer (27) from the pump body.

  13. Remove O-ring seals (23) and (25) from seat (24).
