Installation Procedure

1. Make sure that all the parts of the fuel tank are free from dirt and debris prior to the assembly.

2. Check the condition of all the parts that are used for the tank assembly. Use new parts for replacement.

3. Install Tooling (A) to the top of center fuel tank (15). Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). Use the hoist to install center fuel tank (15). The weight of the center fuel tank is 275 kg (605 lb).

4. Install bolts (17), the spacers and the washers on both sides of center fuel tank (15) .

5. Connect two hoses (16) to center fuel tank (15). Repeat this step for the opposite side of the center fuel tank.

6. Position the wiring harness on the center fuel tank. Install bolts (13) that secure the harness clips to the top of center fuel tank (15). Connect electrical connector (14) .

7. Use a suitable lift truck and carefully position rear bumper assembly (11). The weight of the rear bumper assembly is 2880 kg (6350 lb) with the standard lift arrangement. The weight of the rear bumper assembly is 5520 kg (12150 lb) with the high lift arrangement.

8. Support rear bumper assembly (11) with a suitable lift truck. Place Tooling (B) under the rear bumper assembly as a safety precaution while installing the mounting bolts.

9. Install bolts (12) on each side of rear bumper assembly (11) .

10. Connect two tube assemblies (10) on the left corner of the fuel tank.

11. Install cover (9) and bolts (8) on the rear bumper assembly.

12. Connect two electrical connectors (7) .

13. Install cover (6) on the rear bumper assembly.

14. Install ladder assembly (5) on the right side of the rear bumper assembly and on the left side of the rear bumper assembly.

15. Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting device to left step assembly (4). The weight of the left step assembly is 154 kg (340 lb). Place the left step assembly in position on the machine.

16. Install bolts (3) to secure left step assembly (4) to the machine.

17. Install bolts (2) that secure the rails to the engine enclosure group.

18. Install Tooling (A) to platform (2). Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). The weight of the platform is 48 kg (105 lb). Place platform (1) in position on the machine.

19. Install the bolts that secure the platform to the machine.

20. Fill the fuel tank. Refer to the appropriate Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.

End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
