3406E and 3456 Generator Set Engines Caterpillar

The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:

• After successful communication with the monitoring system, communication was lost for 0.36 seconds or more.

• The battery voltage to the ECM has been above 9 VDC for the last two seconds prior to the outage.

System Response:

All features that depend on the CAT Data Link will be disabled. The ECM will log the diagnostic code. The code may be viewed on a display module or on the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).

Test Step 1. Perform the following diagnostic procedure: "CAT Data Link Circuit - Test"
