The electronic control module and the fuel metering valve cannot communicate via the CAN data link.

System Response:

The status parameters for "Fuel Valve Position", "Fuel Pressure (abs)", "Fuel Valve Differential Pressure", and "Fuel Temperature" are not available on the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).

The alarm output is activated. The code is logged.

Possible Performance Effect:

If communication is restored, the active code will be cleared. Engine performance will not be affected.

If communication is not restored, engine performance is affected.

Troubleshooting:

Test Step 1. Perform the following diagnostic procedure: "Fuel Metering Valve"
