The PWM signal for the fuel flow from the electronic control module to the fuel metering valve has been interrupted for more than five seconds.
System Response:
The status parameter for "Fuel Valve Position" will display "0 %" on the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).
The alarm output is activated. The code is logged.
Possible Performance Effect:
If the PWM signal for the fuel flow is restored for at least five seconds, the active code will be cleared. Engine performance will not be affected.
If the PWM signal is not restored, the fuel metering valve will continue to operate by using the fuel command via the CAN data link. Engine performance will not be affected.

Test Step 1. Perform the following diagnostic procedure: "Fuel Metering Valve"
