- C30 (S/N: CLX1-UP)
- C32 (S/N: RXB1-UP)
Description of Change: An improved auxiliary water pump has been introduced for marine engine applications. The new water pump has an improved cam liner and an optimized pump housing. When this new pump is installed correctly, the new features promote optimum service life and enhanced pump performance.
Adaptable To: The following part numbers are adaptable to the corresponding engine models:
Engine Model     | Part Number     |
---|---|
3412E     | 250-6878 Auxiliary Sea Water Pump Gp 156-6892 Impeller Kit 156-6893 Impeller Kit 156-6894 Water Pump Kit 212-7266 Pump Kit     |
C30, C32     | 250-6877 Auxiliary Sea Water Pump Gp 156-6892 Impeller Kit 156-6893 Impeller Kit 235-4830 Housing Kit 235-4831 Housing Kit     |
Installation
Be sure to take the following guidelines into consideration during cooling system installation.
- The associated plumbing for the auxiliary water system should be at least as large as the opening for the water pump inlet.
Note: Larger plumbing will be required for installations that have longer runs and/or for systems that will have a large number of bends or elbows.
- The water pump inlet pressure (auxiliary pump) that is created by the auxiliary water circuit should not be less than 24 kPa (3.5 psi) vacuum.
- A vent valve should be placed between the water pump suction strainer and the check valve.
- The strainer should not impose more than a 9 kPa (1.5 psi) restriction to the flow of cooling water.
- The pump and as much of the plumbing as possible should be below the water line of the vessel.
