Router Bits - Inspect/Replace

Usage:

Personal injury or death can result, if the bowl is not blocked up. Block the bowl before changing router bits.

Note: Any material that might fall on the worker should be removed from the bowl area.

Replace the router bits if the router bits are worn or damaged.

  1. Raise the bowl. Place a block under the bowl.

  1. Lower the bowl to the block.

  1. Block the bowl only to a sufficient height for removal of the router bits.

  1. Remove the bolt (1) and remove the pin assembly (2) .

  1. Raise the apron to a height in order to clear the pin holder. Install the pin assembly.

  1. Lower the apron, until the apron is resting on the pin assembly.

  1. Remove the bolts and remove the router bits.

  1. Clean the contact surfaces.

  1. Use the opposite side of the router bits if the router bits are not worn.

  1. Install new router bits if both of the router bits are worn.

  1. Install the bolts for the router bits and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torques for Ground Engaging Tool Bolts".

  1. Raise the apron and remove the pin assembly from the pin holder. Lower the apron and return the pin assembly to the pin's storage location.

  1. Raise the bowl. Remove the supporting block. Lower the bowl to the ground. After a few hours of operation, check the bolts for proper torque.
