NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (1) from the air inlet heater switch.

  2. Remove hose (9) and tube assembly (8) from aftercooler (2).

  3. Remove bolts (7) and tube assembly (6) from the aftercooler.

  4. Remove adapter (5) from the aftercooler.

  5. Remove two bolts (3). Install Tooling (A) into the base assembly.

  6. Remove remaining bolts (3).

  7. Remove support (10).

  8. Remove cover (2).

  9. Attach a suitable lifting device to core assembly (4) at Location (X) and remove core assembly (4). The weight of core assembly (4) is approximately 36 kg (80 lb).

  10. Remove Tooling (A) from the base assembly.

  11. Remove the gasket from the cover.

  12. Remove the gasket from the base assembly.

  13. Disconnect harness assembly (11) at the air inlet heater.

  14. Disconnect inlet air temperature sensor (12).

  15. Remove two bolts (13). Install Tooling (B) into the cylinder head.

  16. Remove remaining bolts (13) and bolts (15).

  17. Remove base assembly (14).

  18. Remove air inlet heater (16) from the cylinder head.

  19. Remove Tooling (B) from the cylinder head.
