Start By:

  1. Remove the electronic unit injectors. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electronic Unit Injector - Remove".


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Position Tooling (C) at the bottom of the electronic unit injector sleeve. This will prevent debris from entering the cylinder during the removal of the electronic unit injector sleeve.

  2. Coat Tooling (A) with clean grease. Use Tooling (A) to cut threads into electronic unit injector sleeve (1).

  3. Install Tooling (B) in electronic unit injector sleeve (1).

  4. Use Tooling (B) to remove the electronic unit injector sleeve.

  5. Remove Tooling (B) and Tooling (C) from electronic unit injector sleeve (1).

    Note: Do not reuse the electronic unit injector sleeve.

  6. Use Tooling (D) to remove any debris from the bore for the electronic unit injector sleeve.
