Usage:
After reconditioning procedures, piston and connecting rod assemblies must be covered with oil and put into storage in a clean area. The FT1571 Piston and Rod Storage Cabinet, shown in the illustration, will keep these components clean and give good access for the service personnel when engines are reconditioned.
The cabinet doors are made of Plexiglass front and back. This permits the piston and rod assemblies to be put into the cabinet from one side and removed from the other side. The doors are fastened to rollers and can slide past one another. The clear Plexiglass keeps dirt out of the cabinet and permits service personnel to see how many assemblies are available in the cabinet. The rear of the cabinet can be made from sheet metal if it is not necessary to enter the cabinet from both sides.
The storage capacity of the cabinet is limited by the size of the assemblies stored there. Larger assemblies can be put on the lower shelves for better weight distribution within the cabinet and for easier movement of the components in and out of the cabinet.
The basic dimensions of the cabinet are:
- Height - 2134 mm (84")
- Width - 2159 mm (85")
- Depth - 1219 mm (48")
- Width - 2159 mm (85")
