NOTE: This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3799" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3799" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The seat swivel weld studs are not made of the proper grade material. The seat swivels need to be replaced.

Rework Procedure

1. Refer to the Parts Book microfiche for Illustrations. Remove the two rear x 1 " slide stop bolts, block and nuts.

NOTE: Some machines may have one slide bolt located at the front.

2. Remove the two 8T4876 Washers, 8T5360 Washers and 8T9381 Bolts that attached the tether belts to the seat upper.

3. Slide the seat upper to the front and clear of the suspension.

4. Remove the two 5M3062 Bolts and 5P1075 Washers that secure the front of the swivel assembly to the suspension.

5. Remove the two 2K4973 Hex Nuts and two 5P1075 Washers that secure the rear of the swivel assembly to the suspension.

6. Remove the 1227161 Swivel Assembly from the suspension.

7. Remove the 1227168 Slide Plate from upper seat by removing six bolts.

8. Install the new 1227168 Slide Plate to upper with six bolts and tighten to a torque of 31 ± 8 N·m.

9. Install the swivel assembly on the suspension in the correct orientation.

10. Install the two new hex bolts that secures the front of the swivel assembly to the suspension.

11. Install two new hex nuts and washers that secure the rear of the swivel assembly to the suspension.

12. Tighten the nuts and bolts above, to a torque of 31 ± 8 N·m.

13. Loosen the nuts that attach the 1227163 Right Hand Slide Rail and adjust the rail inward to allow easier installation of the seat upper.

14. Install the seat upper making sure that the controls are positioned properly during installation.

15. Install the two rear slide stop bolts spacers and new nuts and tighten to a torque of 25 ± 6 N·m.

16. Adjust the 1227163 Right Hand Slide Rail outward to provide smooth non-wobbling seat slide movement when a force of 124.5 to 133.5 N·m is applied to the seat and slide.

17. Tighten the right hand rail nuts to a torque of 25 ± 6 N·m.

18. Check for proper seat slide travel swivel travel and adjust as necessary.

19. Install the hardware and attach the upper ends of the tether belts to the seat upper and tighten to a torque of 79 ± 19 N·m.
