Engine Speed Switch - Test
To ensure that the engine speed switch is operating properly, perform this test during engine operation.
- Adjust the engine speed to 850 rpm.
- Press "75% VERIFY" button (1) on the engine speed switch and hold the button down.

- Monitor the engine rpm and slowly increase the engine speed.
If the engine speed switch is properly adjusted, the engine will shut down at a speed of 890 ± 10 rpm. Red "OVERSPEED" indicator (3) will illuminate.
If the shutdown does not occur at a speed of 890 ± 10 rpm, adjust the engine speed switch according to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Speed Switch - Calibrate".
Note: The engine speed switch must be reset before the engine can be restarted. Press "RESET" button (2) .
