NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Use Tool (A) in order to remove engine oil filter (3) from the engine oil filter base (2) .

  1. Loosen the hose clamps (4) for the engine oil cooler. Remove the oil cooler lines.

  1. Remove four bolts (1) that secure the engine oil filter base (2) to the cylinder block.

  1. Remove the engine oil filter base (2) from the cylinder block. Remove the gasket and plug all openings immediately.

  1. If equipped, remove the oil supply line for the turbocharger.
