Product Identification
Caterpillar Skid Mounted Pumpers are identified with serial numbers. These numbers are shown on the Product Information Plates that are mounted on the pumper.
Caterpillar dealers need these numbers in order to determine the components that were included with the pumper. This permits accurate identification of replacement part numbers.

The Product Information Plates are located on the left side of the skid on each of the skid's sections. The center section also has a Product Information Plate that is located on the right side.
The Recommended Fluids and Recommended Filters (plate) is located on the front left side of the skid next to the front Product Information Plate.
Engine Identification
Caterpillar engines are identified with serial numbers, performance specification numbers, and arrangement numbers. In some of the cases, modification numbers are used. These numbers are shown on the Serial Number Plate and the Information Plate that are mounted on the engine.
Caterpillar dealers need these numbers in order to determine the components that were included with the engine. This permits accurate identification of replacement part numbers.

The Serial Number Plate is on the left side of the cylinder block near the rear of the engine.

The following information is stamped on the Information Plate: engine's maximum altitude, horsepower, high idle rpm, full load rpm, fuel settings and other information.
