(1) Oil seal

Do not install the oil seal by hand. Use the installation tool and a press to install the seal. Make sure that the primary lip is toward the water pump drive gear. Press the seal until the seal is flush into the counterbore.

(2) Seal group

Use the installation tool to install the seal group. Press the seal onto the shaft until the stationary portion of the seal is fully seated in the pump housing.

(3) Shaft's diameter in the area of the seal group ... 19.10 ± 0.01 mm (0.7520 ± 0.0004 inch)

(4) Bolt

Torque ... 39 ± 3 N·m (29 ± 2 lb ft)

Maximum air leakage per minute with an air pressure test of 140 kPa (20 psi)

Water side ... 10 cc (0.61 cu in)

Oil side ... 24 cc (1.46 cu in)
