Hydraulic Tank - Remove and Install

Start By:

  1. Release the hydraulic system pressure.

  1. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  1. Remove cover assembly (2) .

  1. Use two people in order to remove cover assembly (3) . The weight of cover assembly (3) is approximately 28 kg (62 lb). Remove bolts (1) and cover assembly (3) .

  1. Remove bolts (4) and gauge assembly (6) .

  1. Disconnect harness assemblies (5) and (11) . Disconnect harness assemblies (5) and (11) from the hydraulic tank. Remove temperature sensor (10) .

  1. Disconnect hose assemblies (7) and pipe assembly (9) from the hydraulic tank. Remove fittings (8) from the hydraulic tank.

  1. Remove bolts (12) and reposition filter assembly (13) .

  1. Remove cover assembly (14) and (15) .

  1. Remove bolts (16) and reposition exhaust monitor assembly (17) .

  1. Disconnect brackets (18) from the hydraulic tank.

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (19) . Cut cable straps (20) and reposition harness assembly (19) .

  1. Remove bolts (21) and plate assembly (22) .

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to hydraulic tank (23) . The weight of hydraulic tank (23) is approximately 250 kg (550 lb).

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (25) and tube assembly (26) .

  1. Remove bolts (24) and hydraulic tank (23) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install hydraulic tank (23) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (24) . Tighten bolts (24) to a torque of 270 ± 40 N·m (200 ± 30 lb ft).

    1. Apply Tooling (C) to the threads of bolts (21) .

    1. Tighten temperature sensor (10) to a torque of 34 ± 5 N·m (25 ± 4 lb ft).

    1. Tighten bolts for pipe assembly (9) to a torque of 50 ± 10 N·m (37 ± 7 lb ft).

    1. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 6 ± 1 N·m (53 ± 9 lb in).
