Use the 6V-7070 Digital Multimeter (Heavy Duty) for making resistance measurements (continuity) or for making voltage measurements. For instructions on the use of the 6V-7070 Digital Multimeter (Heavy Duty), see Special Instruction, SEHS7734. The 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe is used to make measurements at connectors without disconnecting the connector halves. This probe is pushed into the wire entry side of the connector alongside the wire. The 7X-6370 Adapter Cable is a 3 pin DT cable that is used in order to make sensor circuit measurements. Table 1 lists the Contact Removal Tools that are used to remove CE connectors.

The 4C-4075 Crimp Tool is for 4 AWG through 10 AWG pins and sockets that are used on CE connectors.
Note: Except for harness tests, the following testers are not recommended for use on current Caterpillar electrical circuits: 8T-0500 Continuity Tester and 5P-7277 Voltage Tester.
