Display Area

Numeric Readout Mode is Mode 2. Numeric Readout Mode assists service personnel with Load/Consumption information and troubleshooting of sensor inputs. The Load/Consumption information is displayed on the display area only. The sensor inputs supply needle position information for the gauge cluster modules.

Mode 2 more accurately shows the same information as the information that is shown on the gauges in Mode 0. The System Identifier "GA-X" precedes the value that is shown on the readout. In addition to the parameter value that is shown on the readout, the gauge needle for the parameter value that is displayed is active. All other gauges fall to the minimum position.

In order to enter Mode 2, hold the "CLEAR/MODE" switch in the MODE position. Hold the "CLEAR/MODE" switch until "- 2 -" appears on the six digit readout. Use the "SCROLL" switch to advance the display to the next parameter value. The readout will momentarily show the system identifier "GA-X". After the system identifier has been shown, the readout will show the value of the parameter.

Only the system identifiers for the gauge modules that are present are shown with "GA-XX". For example, if only one gauge module is present, the following System Identifiers will be shown.

  • GA-1

  • GA-2

  • GA-3

  • GA-4

  • PA-1

  • PA-2

  • PA-3

  • PA-4

If additional gauge modules are present, the following System Identifiers will also be present.

  • GA-5

  • GA-6

  • GA-7

  • GA-8

  • PA-5

  • PA-6

  • PA-7

  • PA-8

The following table matches the System Identifier to the value of the gauge parameter.

Note: For identification of Harness Code 01, Harness Code 02, Harness Code 14, Harness Code 15, Harness Code 16, and Harness Code 17 refer to Table 3 through Table 8 at the end of this section.

Note: There are gauge modules for all applications with System Identifiers "GA-1" through "GA-8". There are no gauge modules for System Identifiers "GA-9" through "GA-12". There are no gauge modules for System Identifiers "PA-1" through "PA-7".

In addition to the table and the illustration, only the gauge for the system that is being shown on the readout provides information for the system. The display momentarily shows the system identifier. Next, the display shows the readout's corresponding value. The scroll switch is used to scroll the systems across the display. When the scroll switch is released, the desired input is shown and the scrolling stops. The readout continues to show the system identifier momentarily. The readout then shows the system value. The system is now shown on hold. While the system is on hold, the system numeric value is continuously updated.
