Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Connect pipes (5) and (6) to the travel brake valve. Connect hose assemblies (2) and (7) to the travel motor.
- Check the oil level in the hydraulic oil tank. If necessary, fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the proper oil viscosity.
- Start the engine, and check the final drive for oil leaks. Shut off the engine.
- Install the cover assembly to the inside rear of the final drive.
End By: Connect the track assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Connect" in this manual.
