Travel Motor - Install

Usage:

325 L 2JK

Installation Procedure For The Travel Motor On CIPI Undercarriage Arrangements which Are Based On 325 Track Type Excavators

  1. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the travel motor and the final drive.

  1. Check the condition of the O-ring seal that is used between the travel motor and the final drive. If the O-ring seal is damaged, use a new part for replacement.

    Illustration 1g00902743

  1. Install the O-ring seal on the body of travel motor (4). Apply a thin coat of clean hydraulic oil on the O-ring seal.

  1. Fasten a sling and a hoist to travel motor (4), as shown. Position the travel motor on the two guide bolts. Use two persons to slide travel motor (6) into position in the final drive. Install the four lower socket head bolts (5) that hold the travel motor. Remove the guide bolts from the upper mounting bolt holes, and install two upper socket head bolts (5) evenly. Tighten the six socket head bolts (5) evenly.

  1. Check the condition of the O-ring seal that is used in the ends of hose assemblies (4) and (8), and two pipes (7). If the O-ring seal is damaged, use a new part for replacement.

  1. Remove the plugs from the ends of hose assemblies (4) and (8). Install the O-ring seals in the hose assemblies and pipes. Connect hose assemblies (4) and (8), and two pipes (7) to the travel motor in the component's original locations.

  1. Install three cover assemblies (1) on the right rear of the undercarriage frame assembly.

  1. Fill the final drive with hydraulic oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the proper oil viscosity and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities" for the correct amount. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Final Drive Oil Level - Check" for the correct filling procedure.

End By: Install the travel brake valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Travel Brake Valve - Install" in this manual.
