The remote pressure taps are located behind the left access door. (1) Pressure tap (Pilot pressure) |
- Connect a 4000 kPa (580 psi) pressure gauge to pressure tap (1) .
- Start the engine.
- Adjust the engine speed to LOW IDLE by turning the engine speed dial to position 1.
- Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).
- Check the pilot pressure at pressure tap (1). Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Specifications" in this manual for the correct pilot pressure.
Adjust
In order to adjust the pilot pressure relief valve, you must temporarily adjust the pilot pressure reducing valve to a higher pressure.
- Adjust the engine speed to LOW IDLE by turning the engine speed dial to position 1.
- Loosen locknut (4) on the pilot pressure reducing valve.

Pilot Manifold With Medium Pressure Control Valve (2) Cap (Pilot relief valve adjustment screw) (3) Locknut (Pilot relief valve) (4) Locknut (Pilot pressure reducing valve) (5) Pilot pressure reducing valve adjustment screw |
- Turn in pilot pressure reducing valve adjustment screw (5) fully.
- Turn pilot relief valve adjustment screw (2) in order to change the pilot pressure relief valve settings. Adjust the pilot pressure to 3300 to 3400 kPa (479 to 493 psi).
Turn pilot relief valve adjustment screw (2) clockwise in order to increase the pilot pressure. Turn pilot relief valve adjustment screw (2) counterclockwise in order to decrease the pilot pressure.
Note: The pressure will increase by approximately 250 kPa (36 psi) when adjustment screw (2) is turned by 1 turn.
Note: Always make the final pressure adjustments on the pressure rise.
- Tighten locknut (3) to the specified torque.
- Turn pilot pressure reducing valve adjustment screw (5) in order to adjust the pilot pressure reducing valve back to specifications. Adjust the pilot pressure reducing valve to 3000 to 3200 kPa (435 to 464 psi).
Note: Always make the final pressure adjustments on the pressure rise.
- Tighten locknut (4) to the specified torque.
