Description of Change: A new window washer increases the reliability of the windshield washer system. The windshield washer system has two window washers. One window washer services the upper windshield. The other window washer services the lower windshield.

Adaptable To: The new 178-3780 Window Washer replaces the former 8U-2598 Window Washer. The new window washer is effective with the models that are listed. The new window washer is not adaptable to earlier models. The earlier models are not configured for the field retrofit of the new window washer. The new window washer is shown in Illustration 1.

The new window washer for the lower windshield is located on the fuel tank for the models that are listed.

The new window washer for the upper windshield is located on the tool box for M320 (PIN: 6WL) Wheeled Excavator.

The new window washer for the upper windshield is located on the cab riser linkage for M318 (PIN: 8SS) and M320 (PIN: 9PS) Wheeled Excavators.

The new window washer for the upper windshield is located on the electric compartment for M312 (PIN: 6TL), M315 (PIN: 7ML), and M318 (PIN: 8AL) (PIN: 6ES) Wheeled Excavators.
