Note: The procedure to install the right hand final drive and the procedure to install the left hand final drive is identical. The procedure that follows is for one of the final drives.

  1. Attach two lifting straps and a hoist to final drive (1) , as shown. The combined weight of the final drive and the travel motor is 714 kg (1575 lb). It may be necessary to adjust the lifting straps for correct balance of the final drive. Position the final drive and the travel motor on the track roller frame, as shown.

  1. Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound on the threads of bolts (4) . Install the washers and bolts (4) . Use Tooling (A) to tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 800 ± 100 N·m (590 ± 75 lb ft).

  1. Connect hose assembly (2) and hose assembly (3) to the travel motor.


NOTICE

To avoid system damage, make sure that the hydraulic motor is properly filled with hydraulic oil before start-up.


End By:

  1. Install the travel brake valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Counterbalance Valve (Travel) - Install" in this manual.
  2. Install the final drive sprocket. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Final Drive Sprocket - Remove and Install" in this manual.
