Water Valve (Cab Heater) - Remove and Install

Usage:

325B L 2JR

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the storage box. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Storage Box and Covers (Cab) - Remove and Install" in this manual.

Note: Before you begin the following procedure, swing the upper structure in order to gain access to the panel that is mounted beneath the cab. Removing the panel allows access to the hose connections on the water valve.

  1. Close the shutoff valves to the heater lines. The shutoff valves are located on the water pump.

  2. Remove bolts (1) and the washers. Remove plate assembly (2).

  3. Disconnect hose (3) to the cab heater water valve.

  4. Cut strip insulation (4).

  5. Cut wire tie-wrap (6). Reposition temperature sensor (5).

  6. Remove nut (7) and the washer.

  7. Cut the wire tie-wraps. Disconnect electrical connector (8).

  8. Remove four screws (9).

  9. Remove water valve (10) and the bracket.

  10. Remove three screws (11).

  11. Remove bracket (12).

Installation Procedure

  1. Reposition bracket (12).

  2. Install three screws (11).

    Note: Replace the O-ring seal in the water valve.

  3. Install water valve (10) and the bracket.

  4. Install four screws (9).

  5. Connect electrical connector (8). Install the wire tie-wraps.

  6. Install the washer and nut (7).

  7. Reposition temperature sensor (5). Install wire tie-wrap (6).

  8. Replace strip insulation (4).

  9. Connect hose (3). Tighten the hose clamp to a torque of 4.5 ± .5 N·m (40 ± 4.4 lb in).

  10. Reposition plate assembly (2) on the machine. Install the washers and bolts (1).

  11. Open the shutoff valves to the heater lines. The shutoff valves are located on the water pump.

  1. Install the storage box. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Storage Box and Covers (Cab) - Remove and Install" in this manual.
