Swing Drive - Disassemble
Start By:
- Remove the swing drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swing Drive - Remove" in this manual.

Failure to properly assemble parts or failure to follow established procedures can lead to damage of the parts and assembly. To avoid damage to parts, always identify and mark the parts so that they can be installed in the same location. Ensure that gear surfaces align. Never force parts during assembly. |
- Be sure that the swing drive is thoroughly clean prior to disassembly.
- Position the swing drive on wood blocks, as shown. The weight of the swing drive is
52 kg (115 lb) . - Make an alignment mark on the ring gear and on the swing drive housing for assembly purposes.
- Remove sun gear (1) from the carrier assembly. Remove carrier assembly (2) from the ring gear.

36 kg (80 lb) . - Press the pinion shaft (7) out of the swing drive housing.

20 kg (45 lb) . - If necessary, remove two dowel pins (8) from the swing drive housing.

- Remove lip-type seal (11) from the swing drive housing.

Illustration 9 g00534326 - Turn over the swing drive housing. Remove O-ring seal (13) from the swing drive housing.
- Remove bearing cup (14) from the swing drive housing.
